Cottage History

The cottage came into the Semple family in 1991 having been purchased from Christine Leach by my late father, FB Semple. He had always wanted to live there having first seeing it when visiting Mull in the 1930s with his mother and aunts. The cottage was without amenities of any sort and was in need of renovation. Plans were drawn up by Graeme Dore of Edinburgh to add a rear extension, electricity, water, drains and replace everything except the original stone walls. Kevin Brazil of Glasgow was contracted as builder and work commenced in the Summer of 1995. On completion in 1996 FB took up residence and lived there until he passed away in Nov 2001.
